HOW TO MEDITATE – Short Conversational Story
(Two Friends, one who practices Sahaja Meditation and the other who recently got her realization (New SY) are walking in a park, when the Sahaja Yogi starts the conversation in the following manner…)
So Shabnam, how is your meditation going on?
NEW SEEKER (SHABNAM)
Not that great Priya, I am unable to concentrate…
I don’t know, too many problems in personal and professional life because of which I may be unable to glide through or…
(Asks Priya with a smile as she too passed through the same hurdles initially, Shabnam stares at her and replies)
I am unable to control my thoughts during meditation which might be the other reason… I don’t understand why it’s so difficult to meditate?
(Replies Shabnam to which Priya answers after they sit on a park bench…)
It’s easy Shabnam, you need to relax while you are meditating, it’s a natural process so let it flow…
What do you mean?
(Replies a surprised Shabnam, Priya Continues with her conversation…)
Shabnam… I meant that Meditation should be effortless, you cannot control your mind so let it flow…
(Shabnam keeps on listening as Priya Continues further…)
In Meditation you need to learn to witness things and thoughts, then you can realize the defects in you and can focus on them, it’s like breathing which is effortless and natural…
But I have seen many people including seers and monks practicing it, if it’s that effortless then why we should practice it?
Shabnam, we should practice it so we could learn the art of witnessing things, once you master this state then you can meditate with eyes wide open too!!!
But Priya, is it true that meditation improves work-life balance? I mean one can attain mental peace and silence within oneself…
(Asks a doubtful Shabnam, to which Priya answers in this way…)
Shabnam, always remember that there is a higher awareness which is looking after us and has created each and everything in this universe, so when you meditate you connect yourself with that higher awareness and in turn develop a thoughtless state within yourself. Once you fetch such a state you are in complete peace and nothing can tense you…
(She continues further…)
Even Albert Einstein has termed it as “Torsion fields” and is being studied by Russian scientists, meditation is helpful in reducing stress levels and blood pressures and in some cases, has been successful in curing diabetes and other diseases.
Then in that case simple meditation practice should be enough, why people should route for Sahaja Meditation? What is so different about it?
(Asks Shabnam to which Priya responds in a following way…)
I have nothing against other meditation techniques, there might be a group of people who may have been benefitted from it but Sahaja Yoga gives the power by which the people can introspect and correct themselves and currently is being practiced by millions of people in over hundred countries…
Maybe you are right!!! I am doubting too much…
(Priya keeps her hand on Shabnam and says…)
Give it a try, Shabnam!!! It will work out as initially even I faced same obstacles and doubts but will be happy to help you out in case of any questions…
(Shabnam smiles and both leave from there…)
